Sue is a corporate director with over 25 years of energy sector experience.
She is currently a director of Enerplus Corporation, Precision Drilling Corporation, Freehold Royalties Ltd. and TransGlobe Energy Corporation. She currently serves or has served on the Compensation Committees of all and the Governance Committees of most, including as Committee Chair. Sue also serves on the advisory board of Optimum Talent Inc.. She is a past director of FortisAlberta Inc., the Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter and Safe Haven Foundation as well as numerous for-profit, not-for-profit, private and academic advisory boards.
In her corporate career, most recently Sue was Chief Operating Officer at Oilsands Quest Inc. Prior to that, Sue spent twelve years at Petro-Canada in progressive technical, operational and strategic roles, including Vice President Human Resources and Vice-President In Situ Oilsands Development and Operations. Her industry experience also includes 14 years with Amoco Canada in a variety of engineering and leadership roles.
Sue holds a B. Eng (Mech) from McGill University, an MBA from the University of Calgary, is an Institute of Corporate Directors- certified director and a life member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.
Hilary began her career almost 40 years ago as a hard rock geologist, working in remote exploration camps in northern Canada and then transitioned to the oil and gas industry. She worked on the oil rigs, and had technical roles in exploration, development and corporate planning over an almost 20 year time frame. A move to financial advisory work, led to executive roles in both investment banking and oil and gas operations, including Managing Director at Scotiabank and Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer for Penn West Exploration.
Hilary is the founder and Chair of Tudor Pickering Holt & Co. Canada, the Canadian platform for the global energy advisory firm based in Houston, a Corporate Director for Enerplus Corporation and Modern Resources. She is the Chair of “Let’s Talk Science”, a national science education foundation that promotes science literacy for children.
She served as a member of the Crude Oil and Liquids Advisory Panel during the 2015 Alberta Royalty Review, is a “Deloitte Women of Influence Speaker” and University of Waterloo Distinguished Alumni. Hilary is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and the Canadian Institute of Corporate Directors.
Sue Riddell Rose is President and Chief Executive Officer of Perpetual Energy Inc. and predecessor Paramount Energy Trust since inception in 2002. She graduated from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario with a Bachelor of Science in Geological Engineering (1986), began her career as a geological engineer with Shell Canada and has over 30 years of experience in the Canadian oil and natural gas industry.
From 1990 until 2002 Sue was employed by Paramount Resources Ltd. in various capacities, culminating in the position of Corporate Operating Officer. She has been a director of Paramount Resources Ltd. since 2000. Sue is also a director of Tervita Corporation and AltaLink, L.P.
Sue is a member of the Association of Professional Engineering, Geologist and Geophysicists of Alberta, the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, the American Association of Petroleum Geologists and is a Governor of the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers. Sue is currently actively involved with a number of not-for-profit organizations including UNICEF Canada and Fulbright Canada.
Sue recently retired from the Board of Directors of United Way of Calgary and Area and from the Board of Trustees of Queen’s University and is also past Chair of Alberta’s Promise.
