The Calgary Police Commission (CPC) is a body of appointed Calgary citizens. The CPC’s mandate is to provide independent civilian oversight and governance of the Calgary Police Service to ensure a safe community.
Vacancies currently exists on the board and the Calgary Police Commission is seeking applicants with proven professional experience in the following priority areas:
Eligibility:Candidates must be a resident of Calgary, at least 18 years of age, and not a current or former employee of the Calgary Police Service (civilian or sworn).
Calgary City Council will select Commission members on or about March 16, 2020. The term of this appointment begins immediately, and ends October 31, 2021. The commitment to this appointment is approximately 30 hours per month for meeting attendance, preparation, training and event attendance. There is an honorarium provided for these positions. Given the significance of police oversight in keeping our city safe, the role can be both high profile and high pressure.
